Cristiano Ronaldo revealed heartbreaking news on today (April 18), sharing that his newborn baby boy has passed away.
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” the professional soccer player and his partner Georgina Rodriquez shared in a joint statement on Instagram Monday.

Revealing that they were expecting twins back in October 2021, the Manchester United star posted a photo of the two of them in bed holding up an ultrasound picture of the two babies. It was followed with another family photo of Ronaldo and their children holding up the number two.
“Delighted to announce we are expecting twins. Our hearts are full of love- we can’t wait to meet you #blessed,” Ronaldo wrote.

On December 16, Rodriguez and Ronaldo both posted a gender reveal video announcing the twins would be a girl and a boy.
Monday’s statement continued with, “Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” seemingly confirming their daughter survived.
There’s no word on how the baby passed away. The couple then went on to thank the doctors and nurses for their care and support, and are asking for privacy.
They ended the statement with, “Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”
This would have been the couples second and third child they share together.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
