Demigods, Rejoice! Percy Jackson and the Olympians Snags an Early Season 3 Renewal

Good news, half-bloods! The gods (and Disney+) have spoken, and we’re getting even more of our favorite blue food-loving, monster-fighting hero. That’s right — Percy Jackson and the Olympians has officially been renewed for a third season, and we haven’t even gotten Season 2 yet! Talk about divine intervention.

The announcement came straight from Mount Olympus (aka Disney Branded Television and 20th Television) earlier today, confirming that Percy’s journey will continue with an adaptation of The Titan’s Curse, the third book in Rick Riordan’s best-selling series. And if you know, you know—this is where things get wild.

If you thought The Sea of Monsters was intense, just wait until The Titan’s Curse hits the screen. We’re talking new heroes, terrifying villains, and life-or-death quests that will have us all screaming at our TVs. Rick Riordan himself is hyped, teasing that this season will bring fan-favorite characters to life for the very first time.

“This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life,” Riordan shared. “It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show.”

Um, Nico di Angelo. The king of angst. The son of Hades. The boy who single-handedly changed the Percy Jacksonuniverse forever. This is NOT a drill.

Along with Nico, we’ll be meeting Thalia Grace (daughter of Zeus and certified badass), the Hunters of Artemis (an all-female warrior group that does not mess around), and of course, the chilling villain Atlas, who literally holds up the sky. No pressure, right?

Honestly, we knew this was coming. The first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians was an absolute juggernaut, becoming one of the top five most-watched original series across all streaming platforms. On TikTok alone, #percyjackson racked up over 1 billion views in just the first month. And let’s not forget its 16 Children’s and Family Emmy nominations, plus its win for Favorite Kids TV Show at the Kids’ Choice Awards.

With this kind of energy, a third season was practically fated.

Disney Branded Television President Ayo Davis called the renewal a “thrill,” praising the “incredible cast and creative team” for their work in bringing Riordan’s world to life. Meanwhile, the fandom (aka us) is collectively losing its mind over what this means for the future of the show. (The Last Olympian adaptation when? )

While there’s no official release date yet, we do know that Season 2 will premiere this December on Disney+. The second season, based on The Sea of Monsters, stars Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, Aryan Simhadri, Charlie Bushnell, Dior Goodjohn and Daniel Diemer, and recently wrapped filming in Vancouver. It will continue Percy’s journey alongside Grover, Annabeth, and some very familiar foes.

Until then, all episodes of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 are available to stream on Disney+ — so if you haven’t binged it yet, what are you waiting for? A prophecy? With The Titan’s Curse officially locked in, it’s clear that Disney is all in on the Percy Jackson universe. And if this momentum keeps up, we better get The Battle of the Labyrinth and The Last Olympian too—because let’s be real, we need to see that Percy vs. Kronos showdown in all its cinematic glory.
