Disney Channel‘s much-anticipated holiday movie, The Naughty Nine, hits our TVs beginning TOMORROW (November 22), and it introduces a refreshing take on holiday themes as it blends mischief, adventure, and heartwarming lessons into a delightful package that’s sure to captivate audiences of all ages by adding a special twist on a heist action movie with some holiday cheer.
At its core, The Naughty Nine is a tale of redemption and the true spirit of the holidays. The story revolves around Andy, a fifth-grader who finds himself on Santa’s naughty list. Feeling unjustly branded, Andy bands together a group of fellow “naughty listers” in an ambitious heist to claim the Christmas presents they believe they deserve. However, the journey leads them to a deeper understanding of what it means to be “naughty” or “nice.”
The young ensemble cast, led by Winslow Fegley, brings an infectious energy to the film. Each character, with their unique quirks and talents, makes for an incredible ensemble that everyone can relate to. Winslow recalls being a bit of a trouble-maker when he was younger, and channeled some of those moments for the role of Andy. “It was kind of an easy role for me in a way. It was awesome. I just resonated with [Andy] so much,” Fegley tells Celeb Secrets exclusively in a virtual interview.
Directed by Alberto Belli, The Naughty Nine stands out with its vibrant visuals and dynamic pacing. The director skillfully balances the heist’s excitement with tender moments of self-discovery and friendship. The film’s aesthetic, with its whimsical and colorful design, complements the festive spirit while adding a touch of whimsy. The magical set design is as beautiful and grand is its cast. The movie is action-packed for the whole family.
Belli tells us how he used to create Santa’s villages as a kid, and being able to create a large-scale village for the movie was “a dream come true.” From sleighs to airplane scenes, the director and cast bring a memorable and vibrant energy across the film.

What sets The Naughty Nine apart is its underlying message. “I hope when kids watch this movie they are able to see that each person’s uniqueness brings across a very special trait, or something that will help as a group. Being unique is something that is really powerful, especially when working with a group to achieve something,” Winslow mentions. “Of course, achieving something that is good, not bad!”
