Led by a dominant performance by their defense, including picking off Cooper Rush three times, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys 26-17 on Sunday Night Football to move to 6-0 on the season. Head Coach Nick Sirianni and his staff should be heavily praised for this incredible start to the season.

The Philadelphia Eagles showed the football world that they are the real deal in their first national tv game of the season. The defensive backs for Philly were truly “flying” around the field like Eagles, as former Florida Gators star C.J. Gardner-Johnson had two interceptions in the contest, including the game-sealing one after coming back into the game from a hand injury; also joining the INT party was all-pro cornerback Darius Slay who indeed lived up to his nickname, “Big Play Slay.”

For the first time this season, quarterback Jalen Hurts had no rushing touchdowns, as he would finish the primetime showdown with two touchdown passes while throwing for 155 yards and rushing for 27 yards. The Eagles top two receivers had solid outings in this one as A.J. Brown finished with five catches for 67 yards and a touchdown, while DeVonta Smith had a touchdown of his own to go along with five receptions for 44 yards.

The Cowboys heavily struggled in the passing game as quarterback Cooper Rush had his worse showing of the season, throwing three interceptions. A positive for Dallas on the offensive end was the many flashes of “prime” Zeke as the former Ohio State tailback ran for 81 yards on 13 carries and had a touchdown.

Another positive for Dallas was rookie tight end Jake Ferguson who did a fantastic job stepping into the TE1 slot in place of the injured Dalton Schultz.

The Eagles have a bye week in week seven, so they will not play again until week eight as they host the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just had an upset win over Tom Brady and the Bucs.
As for Dallas, they will look to get back to the winning column as they host the Dan Campbell-led Detroit Lions in their week seven matchup at “Jerry World.” Aside from just winning their next matchup, Dallas will also have a critical decision on their hands as starting quarterback Dak Prescott is scheduled to be ready to play again next week after suffering a thumb injury in their week one loss to Tampa.
