Country music’s rising star Erin Kinsey is turning heads with her fresh sound and fearless storytelling in her latest song, “Gettin’ Away With It.”
Co-written by Kinsey with Lauren McLamb and Brandon Hood, and produced by Josh Kerr, the single is the title track of her forthcoming EP, slated for release on October 11, 2024. The RECORDS Nashville artist is having fun breaking the rules— and everyone is loving it.
The Texas native has been on a whirlwind ride of creativity and growth since her debut. Her viral hits “I Ain’t Crazy” and “Matchmaker” have paved the way for this new chapter, giving fans an unfiltered look at her life and experiences.
Kinsey isn’t afraid to embrace her sassier side, a shift she credits to personal growth and a determination to create music that feels authentic to her.
“I feel like I’m just creating music that I’m having fun with and airing out all of my drama,” she told Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview. “It feels like I am getting away with murder—like, I’m not having to play all these games or be somebody I’m not.”

Kinsey’s newest single pays tribute to her sister, Avery, whom she describes as “that girl” everyone admires. “The boys fall in love with her, and the girls want to be her best friend,” Kinsey gushed.
Co-writing the track gave her the opportunity to channel her admiration into a story song that will resonate with listeners. The song’s upbeat vibe is matched by a playful music video, featuring influencer Zoey Aune as its lead. Filmed at a vintage gas station, the video captures the spirit of the track with Kinsey and her band jamming out in front of a beat-up red car.
“It’s just going to be so cute,” Kinsey said. “Writing a story song and having it visually come to life makes it all feel so complete.”

Kinsey has made waves by breaking out of the mold she thought she had to fit into. “I Ain’t Crazy,” a fiery anthem inspired by a past relationship, allowed her to let go of her inhibitions and connect with fans on a deeper level.
“At first, I thought I’d never release anything that sassy, but then I realized I could be her,” she said of the song. The raw honesty resonated with listeners, leading to over 55 million streams across platforms — a success Kinsey never anticipated.
Her upcoming EP reflects this newfound freedom. “I started writing songs I couldn’t wait to play live,” she explained. “These are songs I want to listen to in my car, and they all feel so honest to me. This project is me in every way—sassy, sweet, bold.”
Kinsey’s journey has been shaped by her close connection to Nashville’s songwriting community. While most tracks on the EP are her own, she’s excited to release a song she didn’t write. “It feels like such a way to support the Nashville songwriter community,” she said. “To get to take on one of those songs and make it my own is such an honor.”
One standout collaboration is the song “Wild,” co-written with Sarah Buxton and Josh Kerr. Buxton, a seasoned songwriter and vocalist, also contributed stunning background vocals. Kinsey revealed, “It’s the only song I didn’t do my own BGVs for, and Sarah absolutely killed it.”

From playing her eighth Grand Ole Opry performance to watching her fans embrace her bold new direction, Kinsey is relishing every moment of her ascent. Her iconic red jumpsuit—originally a gift from her sister and a centerpiece of the “I Ain’t Crazy” music video — has become a symbol of her artistic evolution. “It’s like she’s there with me on stage,” Kinsey said, reflecting on her Opry performances.
As she gears up for the release of Gettin’ Away With It, Erin Kinsey is embracing every facet of who she is. With a vibrant personality, relatable storytelling, and a dash of Texas sass, she’s proving that sometimes, breaking the rules is exactly what country music needs.
