Jamie Lynn Spears Finally Speaks Out About Sister Britney Spears’ Conservatorship

Jamie Lynn Spears has finally spoken out about her sister Britney’s conservatorship and wants everyone to know that she’s got her sister’s back.

In a series of Instagram stories, Jamie Lynn addressed as to why she hasn’t spoken out about her her older sister’s conservatorship battle, saying:

“I just want to take a second to address a few things. The only reason I haven’t before is because I felt like until my sister is able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, that it wasn’t my place or it wasn’t the right thing to do. Now that she has very clearly spoken and said what she needed, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel I need to say,” Spears says.

The country singer and former Zoey 101 actress assured her fans that she supports Britney behind closed doors and that she has “loved, adored and supported” her since the day she was born.

Spears continued and said, “I made a very conscious choice in my life to only participate in her life as her sister, and an aunt to those boys [Sean & Jayden Federline]. Maybe I didn’t support the way the public would like me to, with a hashtag on a public platform, but I can assure you, I’ve supported my sister long before there was a hashtag, and I’ll support her long after. Note that.”

Many fans were outraged as to why Britney’s only sister never publicly spoke out about the conservatorship battle. One person wrote on Twitter, “Day 4 of Jamie Lynn, Bryan, Lynne and Jamie Spears staying silent. #FreeBritney.”

Another person wrote, “Okay….but where Jamie Lynn at tho?!?”

The actress clapped back at those claims and said, “Not that I owe the public anything, because my sister knows I love and support her. That’s the only person I owe anything to.”

The Sweet Magnolias actress also expressed how proud of she is of Britney for standing up for herself.

“I’m so proud of her for using her voice. I’m so proud of her for requesting new counsel like I told her many years ago. If ending the conservatorship and flying to Mars or whatever the hell else she wants to do to be happy, I support that 100% because I support my sister; I love my sister. Always have, always will. As long as she’s happy. So let’s keep praying. That’s all.”

What a way to show support for your sister! Don’t forget show your support for Britney by using hashtag #FreeBritney and leave a reaction at the bottom of the post to let us know how you feel about the news.
