Jordan Davis Says Upcoming Record Resembles His First Studio Album “Home State” (Exclusive)

Country music always encapsulates a good story, and one of country music’s finest, Jordan Davis, does just that.

His latest nostalgic offering, “Know You Like That,” written by Ray Fulcher, Thomas Archer, Jordan Rowe and Michael Tyler and produced by Paul DiGiovanni, encompasses what it’s like to reminiscence on that old flame who now has a happy life of their own. They’re married with kids now, but it doesn’t diminish the good days you once shared together. Is he trying to break up happy homes?

Shared in a press statement via Universal Music Group, Davis shares, “‘Know You Like That’ is one of the few outside songs that I cut on this next project. Man, the hook of this song just really, from the second I heard it, just grabbed me. I thought that they did just an amazing job writing this. And it just feels like one of those classic, nostalgic country songs.”

“Know You Like That” trails after Davis’ summer single “I Ain’t Sayin;’” a story about a man recognizing that a woman at the bar is in a relationship that is not serving her. The song quickly rose to the top, and Jordan spoke with Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder backstage at Audacy’s Stars & Strings concert earlier this month where he dished all about the first time he heard the song.

“It grabbed my ear mainly because it was similar to ‘Singles You Up,’ but we have a friend that was dating somebody and I think everybody but her knew he wasn’t the guy but nobody had the courage to tell her. So when I heard this, I thought of her,” Davis confessed. “Luckily, it didn’t work out. She’s married now, and everyone’s happy, but you know, maybe sometimes you’re in a relationship that you’re the last one to see that it’s not the right one, so that’s what this one reminds me of.”

Both of these releases are launching a new chapter for the singer, as he’s eager to share his upcoming studio album. He hints that the sound of this forthcoming project will be akin to his first record, Home State

“I’m working on a new record. We’re always working on new music, but I have a tour that we’re getting close to announcing,” he reveals. “It’s going back to the process we made the first album on. I feel like we left a lot of those sounds and it’s the same producer. We’ve come a long way from Home State and it would be cool to go back and touch back on some of that stuff.”

Davis recently concluded his DAMN GOOD TIME Tour, and is set to open up for Luke Combs in Australia and New Zealand in 2025. His schedule is also beginning to be jam-packed with festival appearances, including Tortuga Music Festival, Boots In The Park, Barefoot Country Music Festival, Gulf Coast Jam, and more to come.
