Lil Nas X Has A Few Words For Parents Who Are Angry Over “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” Music Video

Lil Nas X released his highly anticipated new single, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” last week and has been causing some buzz since.

Along with the single, the “Old Town Road” singer simultaneously dropped the music video for it (which had a whopping $1 million budget by the way) where he is seen struggling with the temptations of life. But the part that has caused the most outrage is when Nas pole dances his way down to hell for some mildly-explicit time with Satan.

This particular part has caused a heated debate between parents and the Grammy Award-winning singer, with parents claiming that Nas’ 2019 hit “Old Town Road,” was hugely popular amongst kids so Nas’ fanbase is made up of kids therefore, Nas shouldn’t be releasing such “explicit” and “satanic” music videos.

Nas, of course, wasn’t going to let these angry parents have the last word and was more than happy to share his two cents.

“I am an adult. I am not gonna spend my entire career trying to cater to your children. That is your job,” Nas tweeted in response to a tweet stating that “the system” is targeting kids.

Nas was also quick to point out that “Old Town Road” isn’t any “better” of a song, for kids that is,  compared to “Montero,” making them pay attention to the verses of the 2019 hit.

Now although Nas seems to be coping with this backlash quite well, he’s admitted that it’s “taking an emotional toll” on him and making him anxious having to deal with it all.
