Who said Friday the 13th has to be so bad after all?
Earlier today, Netflix dropped a huge announcement that we were not expecting by any means. The streaming platform shared that they are dropping four new episodes of their hit series Grace and Frankie, and more will be coming from the seventh and final season sometime in 2022.
In a video announcement, Grace and Frankie stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin excitedly announced the release of the new four episodes, along with more coming the following year.

“As you know, we’ve been filming the seventh and final season of ‘Grace and Frankie.’ “But don’t worry there’s plenty more to come,” Fonda says. Co-stars Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, June Diane Raphael, Brooklyn Decker, Baron Vaughn, Ethan Embry and Peter Gallagher will also be making a return to the final season.
Executive producer Marta Kauffman shared with The Wrap what fans could expect in the final season.
“Of course we are going to end with Grace and Frankie together in some form, of course we are. That’s what the show is about. As much as it’s about starting over, it’s about their friendship. But there is no fun in a friendship unless there is conflict. And this is a point where Grace and Frankie, after a year of Nick [Gallagher], finally get to be back together, the two of them. And Robert [Sheen] and Sol [Waterston] are there,” shared Kauffman.
According to the New York Post, Dolly Parton is also set to make a guest appearance with her co-stars. “We worked so well together on ‘9 to 5,’ it’s a crazy, wonderful show,” Parton said back in February. “We’ve been trying to write me in somehow. So when it’s safe for us to actually do a production when they’re back, I’ll probably get around to doing that.”
Starring Jane Fonda as Grace Hanson and Lily Tomlin as Frankie Bergstein, Grace and Frankie follows Grace, a retired cosmetics mogul, and Frankie, a hippie art teacher, whose husbands, Robert and Sol, are successful divorce lawyers in San Diego. Grace and Frankie’s lives are turned upside down when Robert and Sol announce that they are in live with each other and are leaving their wives. Now, the women, who have never particularly liked each other, are forced to live together and support each other as they navigate the next chapter of their lives.
The series premiered on May 8, 2015 on Netflix and is currently in its seventh and final season.
