There has been much speculation around the sports world and even the mainstream media regarding the NFL and the Miami Dolphins’ handling of Tagovailoa in Miami’s week three matchup against the Buffalo Bills. After being pushed down hard by Bills linebacker Matt Milano, Tagovailoa stood up with his own power. After taking just a few steps, he stumbled down, and his teammates, including big left tackle Terron Armstead, had to help keep him up on his feet. Tagovailoa would head out of the ballgame but was placed back into the game just a few minutes later in the first drive of the second half.
Since he was brought back into that game, and then the next game resulted in a terrifying situation for the young QB, as previously stated, many people have voiced their concern over this unfortunate situation.
A few days ago, the NFL Players Association fired the neurologist who approved of Tagoaviloa being cleared to play.
With this well-respected doctor making this huge statement, there will continue to be talk surrounding this polarizing topic. Something of note is that Dr. Omalu was portrayed by Will Smith in the Peter Landesman-directed film “Concussion.”
