Happy New Music Friday, fam! We’re halfway done with the first month of 2021 and our favorite artists are starting the new year right with some unforgettable new songs.
Selena Gomez is back with a new bop and it’s her first solo Spanish-language song in eight years. Just that in itself calls for the top spot on our New Music Friday playlist this week, right?
Giving fans hope that its the first single off a long-rumored Spanish-language album, Selena opened up to Apple Music’s Zayn Lowe about why the heartfelt track has been a passion project for almost a decade.
“I’m so, so proud of my heritage, and just genuinely felt like I wanted this to happen,” she said. “And it happened, and I feel like it’s the perfect timing. Just with all the division in the world, there’s something about Latin music that globally just makes people feel things,” Selena says.
Even more earworms earned high placement on our playlist this afternoon — Zayn‘s “Outside” off his new album Nobody Is Listening; Blake Shelton‘s “Minimum Wage;” Ariana Grande‘s “34 + 35” Remix with Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion; JP Saxe and Maren Morris‘ “Line By Line;” Juice WRLD and Young Thug‘s “Bad Boy;” and Why Don’t We‘s “Grey,” with other buzzworthy songs coming from emerging artists like Joshua Bassett, Avenue Beat, Keedron Bryant, Elle Winter and Pablo Dylan.
