Move over, Slopestyle — Nick Goepper has officially taken over the SuperPipe!
The five-time X Games gold medalist stunned the action sports world on Saturday night (January 25) when he claimed his first-ever SuperPipe gold during Monster Energy Men’s Ski SuperPipe at X Games Aspen 2025, capping off an incredible journey that saw him transition from a decorated slopestyle career to conquering the halfpipe.
It was a showdown for the ages under the bright Aspen lights, as Goepper and defending champ Alex Ferreira went head-to-head in a battle that had the crowd on their feet. Dropping into his final run with precision and confidence, Goepper landed a near-flawless performance, scoring a 92.66 — just 0.66 points ahead of Ferreira, who settled for silver. The packed crowd erupted as Goepper cemented his place in X Games history, proving that his switch to SuperPipe in 2023 was anything but a gamble.
“Man, it’s gonna take a few hours for me to decompress,” Goepper told Celeb Secrets after his milestone victory. “I’ve been visualizing and meditating on this for weeks, working really hard and staying super patient. I knew I could do it. I believed in myself.”

The 30-year-old skier’s journey to the top of the SuperPipe podium is nothing short of remarkable. A four-time X Games slopestyle gold medalist, Goepper announced his retirement from competitive skiing in 2023 — only to surprise everyone by making an unprecedented switch to halfpipe. It didn’t take long for him to climb the ranks, and in just two years, he’s gone from slopestyle legend to SuperPipe champion.
“This is my 12th X Games, and I think I’m doing it for the right reasons — which is that it’s really damn fun,” he said. “Competing in front of my family and my girlfriend, who won’t be my girlfriend for long — that’s my favorite part.”
While Goepper took home the gold, hometown hero Alex Ferreira delivered another impressive performance, earning his eighth career X Games medal. The 30-year-old Aspen native, who came into the event as the defending champion, put down a strong run and nearly defended his title with a 92.00. Despite falling just short of gold, Ferreira continued to show why he’s one of the best SuperPipe riders in the game.
Reflecting on the moment, Ferreira shared with Celeb Secrets, “Honestly, I’m lucky because I’m part of a great team. The U.S. Ski Team is amazing. I’ve got great teammates, the camaraderie is high, and we have a lot of fun together. To be on the podium with those guys is an honor.”

As for what’s next, Goepper made it clear that he’s not hitting the brakes anytime soon. “We got a few more events, and I’m not taking my foot off the gas for the next couple of years,” he said. “We got some big stuff coming up, so let’s go.”
With his SuperPipe gold now added to his legendary X Games resume, Goepper has solidified his status as one of skiing’s most versatile and dominant athletes. And if his performance in Aspen was any indication, this new chapter of his career is just getting started.
