Sabrina Carpenter is working late.
The 25-year-old pop star took a quick break from her sold-out Short ‘N Sweet Tour to visit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (October 3). Mixing frilly elegance with cheeky lyrics, Carpenter performed her summer smash “Espresso” on the popular late night talk show.
Donning a powder blue studded bodysuit, matching character heels and her iconic bombshell blowout, Sabrina was backed by a sharply-dressed band who kept time with the funky track. One of the standouts in the performance can be heard in the live renditions use of a horn section, bringing flare to the New York studio.
Sabrina even poked fun at her trademark lyric, “I’m working late, cause I’m a singer,” by sitting down at Jimmy Fallon‘s desk and swiveling around in the late night host’s chair. She went on to pose and dance on the desk before returning to the stage for the song’s velvety chorus.

Sabrina Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short ‘N Sweet, was released on August 23rd, making waves in the summer months. Songs like “Espresso” and “Taste” have been almost inescapable, launching the 25 year-old singer further into the pop sphere.
Recently, the pop princess has received the Song of the Year award at the 2024 MTV VMAs, where she also made her main stage debut with a mashup performance of songs like “Please Please Please,” “Taste” and “Espresso.”
