SM6 Opens Up About Very Personal Track “Panic,” Teases New Projects (Exclusive)

Hard-hitting electro pop band SM6 is back with their latest release “Panic,” and this may just be their most personal single yet.

In the dynamic single, lead singer Isabel Jones draws from personal experiences, learning to embrace her sexuality all while publicly lifting the veil.

“I wrote this song from a fear of coming out as part of the LGBTQ+ community and what was going through my head at the time. I’m so happy that now it’s out there and hope to give others the courage to be themselves and to not let their fears conquer them,” Isabel told Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview.

Featuring edgy vocals atop a modern production full of synths and head bop instrumentation, “Panic” is a genre bending record that aims to incorporate some more of the hard hitting sounds that you would not find in today’s pop music.

Celeb Secrets sat down with SM6 to discuss what they’ve been up to since we last chatted, what this song means to them, and what fans can expect in the near future. Check out the full Q&A below and don’t forget to let us know what you think of the song by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets

You can connect with the band on both Instagram and TikTok at @sm6band.

Celeb Secrets: Thank you for chatting with us! The last time we spoke, you were finishing up your Til The Money Runs Out Tour. What have you been up to since then?

SM6: “Honestly so much! We just finished filming our first full feature film in March. We also had a chance to get in the studio to record new music and actually just released a new single called ‘Panic.’ We attended VidCon as featured creators and there’s so much more that we’re working on behind the scenes!”

CS: Congratulations on the release of “Panic.” This is our favorite song of yours and one of your most personal records yet. Can you tell us why this song was so important to share and what it means to you? What do you hope listeners take away from it?

SM6: “It’s personal to us individually in all different ways. For me (Isabel), I wrote this song from a fear of coming out as part of the LGBTQ+ community and what was going through my head at the time. I’m so happy that now it’s out there and hope to give others the courage to be themselves and to not let their fears conquer them.”

CS: You just released the music video and the fans are already loving it! What has it been like to see their support?

SM6: “It’s been truly incredible. This music video was especially difficult to produce due to the timeframe we had. We wanted it to be right and not be sloppily put together. In the end, it turned out just how we wanted and it means the world to us that the fans love it as much as we do.”

CS: Can you share any funny stories from filming the music video? Do you have a favorite scene?

SM6: “Funny stories? Uh yeah hahaha the first girl I (Isabel) ever kissed happened to be filmed from multiple angles with my WHOLE family watching. That was a little… weird.”

And our favorite scenes are divided. George, Emily, Eliana and Jack love the LED wall/room and Isabel and I (Adam) loved filming in the newspaper room.

CS: What’s next for SM6 and where can fans keep up with everything you’re working on?

SM6: “That’s classified. Just kidding! But honestly more songs, more shows and possibly even more acting! You can follow us on our socials @sm6band to stay up to date.”
