Spotify is bringing together music and fashion like never before!
Earlier this week (November 1), the music streaming giant launched its inaugural Capsule Collection, which they say is “a new opportunity for fans to purchase exclusive merch for some of the biggest artists in the world,” according to a press release.
Available only on Spotify, the Capsule Collection will feature a new artist each week, with this week’s being Mexican singer, rapper and songwriter Peso Pluma.
“Spotify has always supported my music, since day one so it made sense to align with them,” said Peso Pluma in a statement. “I use these capsule items in my day to day so I want my fans to have them as well. They have a special meaning to Mexican culture.”
Centered around the widely observed Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos, items for Peso Pluma’s collection include a a Catrinas Hoodie, which is wearable ofrenda that pays homage to the well-lived lives of our ancestors; a Calacas Bailando Long Sleeve T-Shirt, which is a reminder to connect with the spirit by celebrating community, music, and dance; a Nueva Vida Tee, which is a wide-bodied, 100% Cotton jersey unisex comfy tee that is a wearable reminder to celebrate life and those who came before us; and a Calavera Bandana, which is a meticulously designed Calaveras motif, ingeniously crafted to transform the bottom of your face into this iconic symbol of Dia de los Muertos.
Other artists that are set to be featured include Daft Punk, Tyler, the Creator, Tems and Rosalía, allowing fans to wear their love for music on their sleeve, literally.
