Coming into the game with a winless home record against an undefeated road team, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 20-18. The Steelers sealed the deal without starting quarterback Kenny Pickett as he would come out of the contest with a concussion, thus leading former starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky to finish the game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers truly shocked the world with their week six victory over the Bucs as the Steelers came into the game on a four-game losing streak while Tampa had come off a win against the Falcons. The Steelers offense started fast in this one as they scored on their first drive with a six-yard pass from rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett to second-year pro running back Najee Harris. Harris finished the game with 49 total yards on 16 opportunities to go along with his receiving touchdown.

As for Pickett, he would leave the contest in the third quarter after the back of his head hit the turf after being hit hard by Buccaneers star linebacker Devin White. Pickett would leave the game with 144 yards, a touchdown through the air, and 16 yards on the ground.

Steelers backup and former starter Mitch Trubisky would come into the game after Pickett went down; Trubisky threw for 67 yards and would throw the game-sealing touchdown to former Notre Dame wideout Chase Claypool in the fourth quarter for six yards.

As for Tampa, the story of the game for them was the inability to score touchdowns, as they scored just one TD in five red zone trips which was not a recipe for success. When looking at the game’s stats, Tampa led in basically every offensive category, therefore, emphasizing that a lack of touchdown scoring was indeed the issue in this one, as the Steelers defense was able to hold them off for the majority of the game.
The Steelers will look to take this massive win into their week seven matchup against the Dolphins in Miami on Sunday Night Football; now the question of the week will be whether or not Kenny Pickett will be able to clear concussion protocols in time or if they will have to turn back to their starter at the beginning of the year in Mitch Trubisky for their primetime showdown.
