“The Voice” Recap: Blind Auditions, Night Three – March 7, 2016

On the third night of blind auditions, eleven contestants secured their spots on the EMMY award-winning series The Voice. The judges fought over some serious talent! Many of the hopefuls tonight had two or more judges turn after their 90 second performances. Check out some of our favorites below…

One to steal the stage for me was Nate Butler. He performed “The Walk” by Mayer Hawthorne. I was so excited to hear this song, it’s one that’s been haunting me for years! I’ve been trying to remember the title and who it was by for so long and as soon as I heard the first drum beat, I knew exactly what it was. I thought couldn’t contain my excitement because of recognizing the song until I heard Butler open his mouth and hit that falsetto, then I realized it was because I knew how talented Nate was going to be. His performance got three out of four of the judges to turn – excluding Christina, which I was very bummed about. Pharrell said there was a “soulful aspect” to his voice. After hearing all three judges proposals he chose Adam.

Another audition that stuck out to me was, Natalie Yacovazzi, a returning contestant on The Voice. Last time she didn’t make it and Adam encouraged her to return. She performed “Mr. Know It All” by Kelly Clarkson. She hit a very powerful belted note seconds into her audition. Adam was first judge to turn around. The other three judges were apprehensive and tried to read his face but Levine had a solid poker face on. Christina was late by mere seconds leaving Yacovazzi to Team Adam.

Another fire performance was Peyton Parker and her cover “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac. This was a very intense showdown among the judges. ChristinaBlake, and PharrellChristina pulled the rug out from under Shelton by telling Peyton she would just be added to the “punch” of country singers if she chose Blake has her coach. Both Pharrell and Christina tried the hardest to steer Peyton away. Aguilera even put on a country hat and her best southern accent, but she still lost to Shelton.
