The University of Virginia football team is going through a sorrowful time as wide receiver Devin Chandler, wide receiver Lavel Davis Jr. and linebacker D’Sean Perry were shot and killed on a bus that had just returned to campus after a group of students had gone on a field trip to see a play in Washington, D.C.
Also injured in the shooting was running back Mike Hollins and Virginia student Marlee Morgan; thankfully Hollins and Morgan are expected to make a full recover.
The individual who murdered Chandler, Davis Jr., and Perry is Virginia student Christopher Jones who opened fire on board of the bus and committed a horrible and evil act that took the lives of three human beings.
One of the students on board, named Ryan Lynch, told CNN, “Chris got up and pushed Lavel, “After he pushed him, he was like, “You guys are always messing with me.’ Said something weird like that, but it was very bizarre because they didn’t talk to him the whole trip.”
In the days following the tragic event, the football program announced they would not be playing in their final home game of the season, which was scheduled to be played on Saturday against Coastal Carolina; instead, they will be holding a memorial service for the victims at John Paul Jones Arena.
The University of Virginia will hold a memorial service to honor the lives of Devin Chandler, Lavel Davis Jr. and D’Sean Perry, as well as the two students injured in the shooting, Mike Hollins and Marlee Morgan, on Nov. 19, 2022, at 3:30 p.m. in JPJ.

With that said, we want to send our condolences to the loved ones of each victim and to the University of Virginia community.
