On Wednesday (February 17th), Nintendo had their annual Nintendo Direct event, where they announce all the games slotted to release within the next year!
Fans had high expectations for the announcements, as some were expecting a new Animal Crossing expansion pack update and the announcement of the second Zelda: Breath Of The Wild.
Unfortunately, there were no big announcements regarding the games. Animal Crossing got a new Mario party pack update and Nintendo revealed that they’re still in the works for Breath of the Wild 2, so it won’t be coming out any time soon.
Despite the news, there were still plenty of great new games that were announced at the event! Here are our top 5 that we’re excited to check out this upcoming year.
Fall Guys
The iconic game that began trending last summer is finally going to be available on the switch after only being available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox!

Splatoon 3
Nintendo’s last big announcement of their direct event and it did not disappoint! They’re taking on new a new environment called, “Splatlands!” We’re getting new weapons and new customization options!
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Despite the delay of Breath of The Wild 2, Nintendo announced a remastered version of the beloved Wii game that released back in 2011. The game will be remade to fit the controls of the Nintendo Switch!
Star Wars Hunters
Set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, this new online multiplayer game is free-to-play and squad-based that everyone can enjoy!!
