Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield may be facing his end with the organization.
On Wednesday, March 16, Baker took to Twitter to address the city of Cleveland and Browns fans alike, in regards to rumors that he will be traded to the Houston Texans for Deshaun Watson. There, he posted a heartwarming message regarding his thoughts and the potential trade.
“This is strictly to thank the city of Cleveland for embracing my family and me,” Baker wrote. “We have made many memories and shared growing in this process through all the ups and downs. I have no clue what happens next, which is the meaning behind the silence I have had during the duration of this process.”
Baker went on to state that he’s given the franchise everything he’s had, and Cleveland will always be where his heart is. The full statement can be read below.

At this time, multiple teams remain interested in Deshaun Watson, and members of the Browns organization flew to Houston on Tuesday in an attempt to sway the Texans into trading him to the Browns. Watson’s no-trade clause would have to be lifted for this to occur.
Watson notably did not play last season due to both a request to be traded, and numerous sexual assault allegations filed against him. However, a judge in Harris County, Texas did not indict Watson with these charges, so it appears to be the end of his judicial processes for the time being.
Meanwhile, Mayfield is coming off a subpar year in which he was marred by a shoulder injury. The Browns feel that his trade value is pretty high now, so alas, it may become a reality that the star quarterback, whom the Browns drafted first overall in the 2018 NFL draft, may soon be gone from the Rust Belt.
