The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiving core has had an up-and-down type of season after the team traded away superstar wideout Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins in the offseason. As of late, the receivers have begun to improve, and now the Chiefs have boosted that core even more by trading a third and sixth-round pick to the New York Giants in exchange for the electrifying Kadarius Toney.
Breaking: Kadarius Toney
To Chiefs, source tells @theScore. #Chiefs trade their conditional 3rd round pick and 6th to #Giants.— Jordan Schultz (@Schultz_Report) October 27, 2022
The Giants selected Toney in the first round of the 2021 draft; the former Florida Gators star has shown some signs of greatness throughout his short time in the league; however, what has ultimately held Toney back is his knack for getting injured. This season, he has dealt with multiple hamstring injuries, thankfully for Toney and Kansas City; the Chiefs are off this week and do not play until week nine at home against the Tennesse Titans. Therefore this gives the team and player significant time to allow him to heal and plenty of time for Toney to learn the Chiefs playbook.

It will be fascinating to see how head coach Andy Reid uses Toney in the offense. If Toney can stay healthy, a great partnership between him and superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes may form in front of our eyes.
As for the Giants, it is no surprise that the team moved on from Toney after his injury history and his lack of involvement when he was healthy to begin the season.
