Class is officially in session, and things are getting deliciously chaotic at Crescent Veil!
Fresh off last month’s teaser, Freeform, Disney+, and Hulu have released the official full trailer for Coven Academy —giving us an even deeper, darker, and more spellbinding look into the new supernatural teen drama created by Tim Federle (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series).
The new trailer puts Malina Pauli Weissman’s Briar front and center as she tries to get a handle on her newfound powers while finding herself caught between Malachi Barton’s dangerously charming warlock Jake and Louis Thresher’s newly turned vampire Ollie. Set to Olivia Rodrigo’s “Brutal,” the trailer makes it pretty clear that figuring out witchcraft might be the easy part.
Set in the haunted heart of New Orleans, Coven Academy follows three teenage witches and their warlock peers at an elite magic boarding school where power is currency, secrets are lethal and attraction is a liability. As Briar and her fellow students uncover more about the supernatural world around them, they’re forced to navigate ancient conflicts, forbidden romances and questions about just how far they’ll go to protect their city — and themselves.
Alongside Weissman, Barton and Thresher, the series stars Jordan Leftwich as Sasha, a deeply empathic student who can read minds; Ora Duplass as Tegan, an irreverent witch who can bend time; and Tiffani Thiessen as Miss Graves, the glamorous and formidable head of the school. Plus, Devon Sawa joins the supernatural fun as Mr. Cole, a brilliant and charismatic warlock professor.
The recurring cast includes Swayam Bhatia as McKenna, Brendon Tremblay as Alexander, Keegan Connor Tracy as Tamora, BJ Harrison as Agnes and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre as Teese.
Created by Tim Federle, the executive producer behind High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, Coven Academy unfolds in a bingeable format made up of fast-paced chapters, promising to keep the mystery moving as the students discover more about their powers, their pasts and each other.
Coven Academy premieres Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. EDT/PDT on Freeform, with the full season dropping the following day, Oct. 2, on Disney+ and Hulu, as well as Freeform On Demand.
