The Denver Broncos have finally made a decision on who the man in charge will be. The team traded away a first-round pick and a second-round pick to the New Orleans Saints, in exchange for Sean Payton and a third-round pick.
The #Broncos will send a first-round pick in 2023 and early pick next year, sources say. The deal has been agreed to. https://t.co/Lw9O9MQV0k

Payton is most notably known for coaching the Saints and helping Drew Brees reach stardom as the Head Coach/QB duo is one of the best of all time, including winning a Super Bowl together in 2009 against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
Following the 2022 season, Payton decided to step down from his position as the Saints head coach. He quickly became an in-studio sports analyst for FOX. After sitting out a season, Payton is now returning to coaching and will have the tall task of figuring out what went wrong in Denver this past season. The Broncos had the worst offense in the league and the worse season of Russell Wilson’s career.

The 2022-23 Broncos were among the most disappointing teams in NFL history, after being called Super Bowl contenders in the offseason due to their elite defense and acquisition of future Hall of Fame quarterback Russell Wilson.
Unfortunately, the hire of Nathaniel Hackett as head coach did not pay off for the Broncos. Before the season ended, the team relieved Hackett of head coaching duties and then finished the season with an abysmal 5-12 record.
The Broncos do not have a first-round pick in this coming draft, and in their trades for Payton and Wilson have now given up three first-round picks, three second-round picks, a fifth-round pick, and three players.
