Eagles Demolish Giants 38-7 to Advance to NFC Championship

The Philadelphia Eagles made an absolute statement on Saturday as they destroyed the New York Giants 38-7 and made their way into their second NFC Championship Game in the last six years.

Jalen Hurts showed no signs of being hurt, and the league’s number one pass-rushing defense proved why they are the best.

Jalen Hurts came into this game with many questions because he finished the regular season with an injury. With that said, the questions were answered, and there is a clear answer; Hurts is okay and completely ready to play. The third-year signal-caller threw 154 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 34 yards and a rushing touchdown.

The other big part of this win for Philly on offense was their ability to run the ball, as multiple Eagles tailbacks ran for at least 90 yards; Kenneth Gainwell led the way on the ground for the Birds finishing with 112 yards and a touchdown on twelve carries; while Miles Sanders ran seventeen times for 90 yards and even Boston Scott contributed with six carries for 32 yards and a touchdown.

To switch to the Eagles defense, the league’s number one pass-rushing team was rolling on all cylinders as they finished with five sacks and eight quarterback hits on Daniel Jones. Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat led the way as the Eagles pass rushing duo combined for three sacks and five quarterback hits.

Philadelphia’s secondary was also phenomenal as Darius Slay and James Bradberry shut down the Giants receivers; Slay finished with a pass deflection, while Bradberry had two pass deflections and an interception. Something of note, the Eagles were without starting slot corner Avonte Maddox.

As for the Giants, their season comes to a disappointing end, but the organization and fanbase should still be proud as their team was one of the most surprising success stories of the year, led by first-year head coach Brian Daboll.

All in all, the Eagles were the better team from beginning to end and sealed a trip to the NFC Championship, as they will now host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, January 29.
