Hunter Hayes’ fresh, Top 40-and-climbing single “21” is hitting big with fans around the globe, garnering more than 11 million streams and counting in just a few weeks since its release. Now, Hayes has landed a nomination for Choice Country Song for “21” at Teen Choice 2015, which will air live on FOX at 8:00 p.m. EST on August 16.
The nomination is Hayes’ second for this year’s Teen Choice awards, as he also bids for Choice Country Artist among fellow nominees Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood. Already this year, Hayes has taken home the People’s Choice Award for Favorite Male Country Artist and was named one of YouTube’s Top 50 Music Artists of 2015, in addition to earning his fifth GRAMMY nomination.
Hayes also stopped by CBS’ “The Talk” last week to discuss “21” and his bold strategy to release new music via streaming and digital services this summer. Watch the interview here.
Following a recent performance on the Wheels Up 2015 Tour that left the Arizona Daily Star calling Hayes “an amazing entertainer and a terrific instrumentalist,” he will continue his trek with Lady Antebellum and Sam Hunt this Thursday, July 16 in Austin, Texas.
