Chisholm Jr. has a career batting average of .243 – with 34 home runs, 104 RBIs, 37 stolen bases, and a .305 on-base percentage. The Bahamas-born slugger is heading into his third full season in the MLB and will look to head to his second consecutive all-star game.
Chisholm Jr. has captured the eye of many baseball fans worldwide as the spirit and passion he plays with are that of a little leaguer. He has this innocent and happiness that makes you want to watch him play the game because he wears his heart on his sleeve.
Something that Chisholm Jr. will have to adjust to this upcoming season is a position switch, as he has been the Marlins second baseman so far in his career. AL batting champion Luis Arraez, will remain as the primary second baseman, as Chisholm Jr. will now transition to the outfield for Miami as the team’s centerfielder.
At first, many fans were nervous about making a player switch positions. However, after Marlins General Manager Kim Ng expressed that Chisholm Jr. had let her know he would be willing to play at center. Fans are now excited to see their young superstar using his speed at such an important position as well as a position in which Miami has been unable to find consistency at for quite some time.
Jazz Chisholm, Jr. tells me he told the organization if they didn’t acquire a Centerfielder he would “Go out, play the position and win a Gold Glove.”

The fact that a Marlins player is gracing this big-time cover speaks volumes to the love fans have for Chisholm Jr., his game, and his personality.
This is an exciting moment for Chisholm Jr., his family, Marlins fans, and the people of the Bahamas, as one of their own is one of the faces of baseball.
