New Music Friday: Jungkook of BTS Teams up With Latto for a Brand New Collaboration Titled “Seven”

As a part of this week’s New Music Friday, Jungkook is building up his portfolio as a solo artist with the release of a brand new track!

Seven” dropped TODAY (July 14th) on all music streaming platforms, coinciding with his performance at Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series that occurred earlier this morning. Given that his last solo release was in 2022, a song for the FIFA World Cup soundtrack titled “Dreamers,” fans are thrilled to have yet another tune from the BTS member.

To give “Seven” a bit of extra flair, Jungkook shocked said fans by recruiting a familiar face (or should we say voice) to appear on the track…

This special guest is none other than Latto, the chart-topping superstar who recently took home the BET Award for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist just a few weeks ago.

When asked why he chose Latto to appear on the track, Jungkook revealed in an interview with Variety, “We thought about who would be the best rapper for this summer song, and one of the producers recommended Latto. So, we reached out to her, and she gladly agreed to work together for ‘Seven.'”

“I personally like her rapping voice, and I thought her voice adds another layer of liveliness,” he gushed.

As a whole, Jungkook believes that “the song does have the breezy and summery vibe,” and “[he hopes] that anyone who listens to ‘Seven’ can have a fun summer whenever they listen to it.”

With just one listen, we can promise that you will want to add this new tune to your summer playlist!

Aside from Jungkook and Latto’s FIRE collaboration, more of our favorite artists released music as a part of this week’s New Music Friday, and we are seriously obsessed — Post Malone, Troye Sivan, Dan + Shay, KAROL G, Lauren Spencer Smith, Reneé Rapp, Nessa Barrett, Rita Ora, Chelsea Cutler, Alex Warren and more.

Billie Eilish even decided to make her mark on Greta Gerwig‘s Barbie movie! With the release of “What Was I Made For?,” the GRAMMY Award-winner has officially added her name to the soundtrack, alongside superstars like Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, PinkPantheress, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice and more.

After listening to ALL of this week’s phenomenal releases, we managed to pinpoint some of the ones we will definitely be saving to our music library.

Keep scrolling to see which ones we picked, and be sure to let us know which track you like the best by either leaving a reaction at the bottom of the post, or by sending us a tweet at @celebsecrets.
