Happy New Music Friday, fam! It’s crazy to think that we made it through one of the most hectic weeks in our lifetime and it’s only the second Friday of 2021.
Today, Morgan Wallen‘s highly-anticipated double album Dangerous is finally here and we can’t get enough of it. The huge new project showcases his true talent and has over 90 minutes of contemporary country music, proving that he’s the next singer/songwriter that could easily be “Entertainer of the Year” caliber with this release; and ultimately topping our New Music Friday playlist this week.
“Started writing for this album two and a half years ago and had no idea what those two and a half years were going to bring,” shares Wallen in a statement. “I tried to put all of those emotions from that time into one album but couldn’t — so we decided to make two. I hope you listen and it brings you some escape, some joy, some peace. That’s what I’ve found in it. Thanks for all of the support and I can’t wait to play these for y’all live one day.”
Even more earworms earned high placement on our playlist this afternoon — Zayn‘s “Vibez;” two new evermore tracks from Taylor Swift; Saweetie and Doja Cat‘s “Best Friend;” Zara Larsson and Young Thug‘s Talk About Love;” Kings of Leon‘s “The Bandit;” and Mod Sun and Avril Lavigne‘s “Flames,” with other buzzworthy songs coming from emerging artists like Olivia Rodrigo, JVKE, Jack Newsome, JC Stewart and Hannah Hausman among others.
