New Music Friday: The Jonas Brothers Drop a Sweet New Single Titled “Waffle House” and More

While the title may seem silly, the Jonas Brothers‘ sweet new single “Waffle House” has a deeper meaning beyond what you see on the surface!

After teasing the song for months AND performing it during the final night of their New York residency, the highly-anticipated track dropped today (April 7th) as a part of this week’s New Music Friday.

“Waffle House” serves as the second and final single of the trio’s upcoming project The Album, which is set to release on May 12th, as well as a follow-up to the hit song “Wings” that was released on February 24th.

In an exclusive interview with Variety, Nick Jonas revealed that “Waffle House” is one of his favorite tracks on The Album, revealing that “it was a last-minute addition.”

“At first, it was a bit of a head scratcher, but the more I listened to it, the more I loved it. I think it really encapsulates a moment in time for us,” the youngest Jonas Brother shared.

The band took to social media to share exactly what this “moment in time” truly was.

In an Instagram post on March 24th, the band wrote, “Growing up, we would go to Waffle House after shows, and it became our sanctuary. It was the place we dreamt up ideas, the place where we worked through our problems together, and the place where we finally realized we could find our way through anything as long as we came together.”

“‘Waffle House’ was born from a simple but powerful idea: When you sit down with the people that matter most, anything is possible. This song isn’t about a restaurant, it’s about coming together with the people you love and making your dreams come true,” the caption continued.

The post ended with an extremely heartfelt message that reads, “Don’t get stressed, it’s gonna get figured out,” ultimately revealing a portion of the chorus.

Aside from the Jonas Brothers’ sweet new single, more of our favorite artists released tracks that we know will be on repeat all weekend long — “Search & Rescue” by Drake, “Zero” by NewJeans, “Unstoppable” by Daniel Caesar, “Born With A Broken Heart” by Olivia O’Brien, “10×3” by iann dior, “Strike (Holster)” by Lil Yachty, “I Don’t Miss You” by JP Saxe and more.

Our favorite Victorious star even put out a hot new tune! After devoting his post-Nickelodeon life to creating music of his own AND producing for stars like SZA, Giveon, Drake, Ariana Grande and more, Leon Thomas, also known as the beloved Andre Harris, dropped “Crash & Burn” on all music streaming platforms.

In addition to this, some of today’s chart-topping superstars came together to create musical magic, and some of these pairings are NOT what you would expect…

YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Nicki Minaj collaborated on “WTF,” Steve Aoki, Jimmie Allen and Dixie D’Amelio on “Older,” David Guetta, Anne-Marie and Coi Leray on “Baby Don’t Hurt Me,” Noah Cyrus and Vance Joy on “Everybody Needs Someone,” Alesso and Ty Dolla $ign on “Caught A Body,” and more.
