It’s true, new Summer Walker is on the way!

During her performance at this year’s Dreamville Festival, the R&B artist announced her new EP, Clear 2: Soft Life. The highly anticipated project is set to release May 19 via LVRN and Interscope Records.

With over 20 million monthly listeners on streaming platforms like Spotify and several nominations from prestigious music award associations (Grammys, AMAs, iHeart Music Awards), Walker is definitely an artist that you don’t want to miss out on.

The artist is most famously known for her 2019 sophomore album Over It, which debuted at No.2 on the Billboard 200 at the time of its release. It also earned the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album by a woman with 154.7 million on-demand audio streams for the LP’s songs, superseding the debut week of Beyoncé’s Lemonade, which had 115.2 million (via Billboard). The album includes features from several notable artists — Bryson Tiller, Usher, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Drake, and Jhené Aiko just to name a few.

Her 2021 album, Still Over It, received a wide array of critical acclaim, with her tracks ‘No Love (ft. SZA)’ and ‘Insane‘ going viral all across TikTok. Walker‘s newest project, Clear 2: Soft Life serves as a follow-up to her 2019 EP Clear, one of the most stripped-down and vulnerable releases from the artist.

“I just wanted to let you guys know that I have an EP dropping. May 19. Go to my website if you wanna pre-order it. It’s a little somethin’, somethin.’ Y’all ready for some new music?” she teased during her Prime Video live -streamed set. During the weekend of the Dreamville Festival, she was caught shooting hoops at Dave & Buster’s with J. Cole, who headlined the festival alongside Drake, who watched her in awe as she won $440 “on accident,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
