Some of the best music videos from the world’s greatest artists have been nominated for the 2025 MTV VMAs!
CBS and MTV revealed the highly-anticipated list of nominees for their annual award show today (August 5) that honor artists’ music videos whose cultural impact and work during the last 12 months have transformed the music industry and cultivated global conversations.
To no surprise, Lady Gaga leads the pack with a whopping twelve nominations at this year’s show, where she will be looking to add to her 18 VMAs wins with nominations in Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Best Album and more. This marks the third time Gaga has led nominations, previously in 2010 (13 nods) and 2020 (tied with 9 nods).
Bruno Mars is not far behind with eleven nominations, followed by Kendrick Lamar with ten; ROSÉ and Sabrina Carpenter with eight each; Ariana Grande and The Weeknd with 7 each; Billie Eilish with six and Charli xcx with five. Other top finalists include Bad Bunny, Doechii, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, Miley Cyrus and Tate McRae, with Alex Warren, Gigi Perez, Damiano David, Leon Thomas, Lily Young, somber, The Marías, Bailey Zimmerman, Blake Shelton, Cody Johnson, Dasha, Ella Langley, KATSEYE, Lainey Wilson, Mac Miller, Megan Moroney, PARTYNEXTDOOR, ROLE MODEL, Sasha Alex Sloan and Zach Hood among the many earning their first-ever VMA nominations. This year, MTV also introduced new “Best Country” and “Best Pop Artist” categories, with incorporating tons of our favorite country stars in categories across the board. Taylor Swift and Beyoncé will continue to compete for the most-ever VMAs wins as they are once again both nominated for “Artist of the Year.”
