Demi Lovato Recreates Her Near Fatal Overdose In “Dancing With The Devil” Music Video (Watch)

Demi Lovato has been through a lot in the past couple of years and we’ve been witnesses to big parts of it because of her near-fatal overdose in 2018. Not to mention she’s also been sharing with us what exactly happened that night, in her YouTube docu-series, Demi Lovato: Dancing With The Devil

Now she’s giving us more of her with her new album release, Dancing With The Devil…The Art Of Starting Over and a chilling music video where she reenacts the night of her overdose.

The music video is for her single “Dancing With The Devil,” which also serves as the soundtrack for her docu-series, and it begins with a harrowing shot of Lovato recovering in a hospital bed with tubes filtering her blood, as we go through the stages of what happened that night.

Audio from news anchors reporting Lovato’s overdose plays in the background before the video moves into the second verse of the song and we see Lovato’s dealer assault her and leave her, only for her assistant to find her the following morning and has to call for help.

The ending of the video might be the most chilling part, as we see Lovato being given a sponge bath by her nurse and the last filmed shot is a close-up of Lovato’s tattoo on her neck that reads “survivor”– on the spot where she had been hooked up to the dialysis machine.

Lovato’s album has a total of 19 tracks including collaborations with Ariana Grande, Sam Fischer, Noah Cyrus, and Saweetie. Although we love her songs with Grande and Saweetie, our favorite song out of the four has to be “Easy” with Cyrus. Their voices together are beautifully haunting and blend so well with the violin instrumental in the song.

Other songs like “Butterfly,” where Demi talks about her relationship with her estranged father, and “The Way You Don’t Look At Me” discussing insecurities around self-love and body image, are just a few of the beautiful songs on Lovato’s album.
