JPEGMAFIA And Danny Brown Join Forces For Collaboration Album

Two of the most unique artists in the current rap game are coming together to release a masterpiece – JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown

After nearly a year of teasing a new project, the dream team has announced their debut collaborative album, Scaring The Hoes Vol. 1. The highly anticipated collection is due to drop on March 24.

The JPEGMAFIA-produced lead single, “Lean Beef Patty,” captures the eccentric essence of both artists. The glitch-like quality of the single is very much a reflection of JPEG’s production style, leading with a sample of P.Diddy’s 2002 hit “I Need a Girl (Pt.2).” The track makes references to several media instances that have taken place, with the opening verse directed at Elon Musk‘s decision to charge for checkmarks on Twitter.

Two weeks prior, JPEGMAFIA was featured as a special guest on Danny Brown’s ongoing web series, The Danny Brown Show. On this segment, the two divulged into how their friendship started and their beginnings as music makers on platforms like Napster. Towards the end of the episode, the two gave a sneak peak of the first single off the new album, “Lean Beef Patty.” The title was named after the popular fitness creator, leanbeefpatty.

“She’s strong as sh*t!” said JPEGMAFIA on Brown’s podcast upon seeing photos of the social media star. “That’s what this song is!” added Brown.

JPEGMAFIA has put forth quite a few solo projects prior to this announcement, with albums LP!, EP2! in 2021 and his EP OFFLINE!. The rapper and producer has also collaborated with a handful of amazing artists over the years – Denzel Curry, Brockhampton, Gorillaz, Flume and Vegyn just to name a few. Similarly, Brown also worked with Gorillaz and Brockhampton, both JPEG and Brown being featured on Brockhampton’s 2021 album, ROADRUNNER: NEW LIGHT, NEW MACHINE. Although the two haven’t come together on a track until most recently, JPEG is credited for his production on “3 Tearz,” a song off of Brown’s 2019 full length album, Uknowwhatinsaying¿.
