Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens Set To Face Off Against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football

Two of the most talked about players in the NFL are set to battle it out tonight on Thursday Night Football as Tom Brady and the Bucs host Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Both teams have struggled as the Ravens have blown three leads, and the Bucs are currently on a two-game losing streak, including a disappointing 21-3 week seven loss to the Carolina Panthers.

The Ravens have struggled on the offensive side of the ball due to a lack of quality receivers as well as an inconsistent running game; the struggles in the passing game should come as no surprise as the Ravens haven’t had a great receiving core through Lamar Jackson’s time in the league, it seems as if in each offseason fans are expecting the team to improve in that department but the Ravens simply don’t focus on that and right now it is very much haunting them; as for the running game of Baltimore, yes, Lamar Jackson is known for running ability and speed, but at the end of the day, he’s a quarterback in the NFL, not a running back and to add along is the fact that Baltimore came into this season expecting J.K. Dobbins to be their primary back when Dobbins throughout his first couple of years in the NFL has suffered injury after injury, it’s understandable to keep him around because of his talent but at the same time you should play it a little more safe by getting as much quality depth as possible because of Dobbins’s injury history.

Tampa comes into this one with various injuries as they will be missing many players, including two stud defensive backs in safety Antoine Winfield Jr. and cornerback Carlton Davis. However, regardless of injuries, the Bucs should be playing much better football. Yes, injuries have affected them, as previously mentioned but realistically, the most significant problem here personnel-wise is their offensive line; in the offseason, they lost multiple key starters of the line to retirement, injury, and free agency. It has been a rough going for the new offensive line to play consistently, but if the Bucs want to turn this season around, it starts tonight on Thursday Night Football.

Something else that must be more talked about regarding Tampa is that they have a new head coach in Todd Bowles; Bowles does not have an excellent track record when it comes to being a head coach, so that could be another factor here. Bruce Arians, the previous head coach of the team and now an advisor in the front office had great success as a head coach before winning a Super Bowl in Tampa; therefore, that is something to monitor going forward. Perhaps, Arians pulls a Pat Riley in 2006 when he went back into coaching in the middle of the season and led the Heat to their first championship in franchise history.

As for some predictions, we believe the Buccaneers will show the world that they are still a great team and will beat the Ravens 34-26; we also believe Tom Brady will throw at least two touchdowns and Vita Vea will be a dominant force on the Bucs defensive line.
