Coming off huge victories at the Red Bull BC One World National Final, break dancers Grace “Sunny” Choi and Francisco “Ali” Acuna Flores have now earned the opportunity to compete in the Red Bull BC One World Finals.
With a strong showing for both at the national final, Choi and Flores will now look to represent their country and make the United States of America proud.
This will be a homecoming for Choi, the Queens native, with the competition set to take place in New York. Besides simply winning for her country, Choi will also look to make a statement as she is preparing to compete in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as break dancing will now be considered an Olympic sport and thus having the first ever Olympic break dancing competition. A win here will secure a spot in Paris for Choi.
As for Flores, the 20-year break dancing veteran will look to intensify his resume. The Utah native will look to continue his winning streak from the national finals into the world finals.
All in all, Choi and Flores should already be praised for reaching the world finals. Now we shall see if they have what it takes to become break-dancing world champions.
