2020: BTS Lights Up the VMA Stage (Virtually)

Though global phenomenon K-Pop group BTS debuted back in 2013, they had not taken the VMA stage until 2020 when they did a pre-recorded version of “Dynamite” due to not having in-person performances because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite not being fully live, the band proved why they are currently the biggest in the world with their impressive vocals – all in English on this track – and killer dance moves. For the second year in a row, they won Best Group and while nominations have not been announced yet for this year, they are a solid bet having spent 10 consecutive weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 (nine weeks for “Butter” and one week for “Permission to Dance”).
