Kinky Boots took the world by storm when it premiered on Broadway in 2013. It ran at the Al Hirschfield Theatre for just over six years when it ended in 2019.

After the death of his father, Charlie Price (Stark Sands) inherits the shoe factory that he never wanted. From a chance meeting, Charlie forms a partnership with drag queen headliner Lola (Billy Porter) to transform the shoe factory into one that makes high heels for men. As they work together, Charlie and Lola find that they have more in common than they realized.

Porter’s career soared after he won a Tony for his portrayal of Lola and throughout its run, a ton of big names joined the show. Wayne Brady and Todrick Hall both played Lola while Brendon Urie, Tyler Glenn, David Cook, Mark Ballas and Conor Maynard all took on the role of Charlie.

With LGBTQ+ icons Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein behind the music and lyrics, this show is an absolute blast that will certainly “Raise You Up.”
