2017: “La La Land” wins, then loses Best Picture
In what has to be the craziest Oscar moment of all-time, Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway (in true Bonnie & Clyde form) presented the Best Picture award to La La Land at the 89th Academy Awards. As the producers are giving their acceptance speeches, some commotion happens, and it is revealed that Moonlight actually won Best Picture. The La La Land team graciously calls the Moonlight team onstage and the film becomes the first with a fully-black cast and LGBTQ-related to win the top prize.
