1992: Jack Palance proves age is just a number
For his third nomination – which came almost 40 years after his first two – Jack Palance finally won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in City Slickers. Once he got onstage, the then-73-year-old talked about how directors typically go for younger actors and make them look older because they think old actors are not with it anymore. He proved them wrong showing that he could still do one-handed pushups.
