Last but not least, we have the second highest-grossing film of 1996: Twister. This disaster film with Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt may not be the most realistic and the special effects do not hold up to today’s standards, but it’s just so fun to watch.

Almost divorced couple Dr. Jo Harding (Hunt) and Dr. Bill Harding (Bill Paxton) have to join forces once more as they try to release a tornado research device into a twister that will help them be able to create an advanced warning system. They battle against Dr. Jonas Miller (Cary Elwes) who has stolen the plans to Bill’s device and plans to take credit for himself.

A crazy adventure with death-defying stunts, Twister was turned into an attraction at Universal Studios Orlando that was open from 1998 to 2015.
