Anitta, KAROL G, LL COOL J and Shawn Mendes are the latest celebs to head to New York for the 2024 MTV VMAs.
According to MTV, Anitta will bring her signature Brazilian funk to the storied MTV stage for a third consecutive year with a medley of “Savage Funk” and “Alegria” plus the world premiere of “Paradise” with guest appearances by Fat Joe, DJ Khaled and Tiago PZK; LL COOL J will return to the storied MTV stage with a can’t-miss performance of new music from his upcoming album THE FORCE; and Shawn Mendes will make a major return to the MTV stage for the first televised performance with music from his upcoming album Shawn.
The multi-platinum artists will join the all-star roster of global superstars slated to perform at the big show on September 11th, which includes Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, Rauw Alejandro, Sabrina Carpenter, and Katy Perry, who will also receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award.
Earlier this month, MTV revealed that chart-topping rapper Megan Thee Stallion will make hot girl history by hosting the 2024 MTV VMAs for the first time, as well as this year’s nominees across 15-gender-neutral categories for the big show.
To no surprise, Taylor Swift leads the pack with a whopping ten nominations. This September, she will be looking to continue her record-breaking streak for “Video of the Year” and shatter her own record to become the only artist to ever three-peat and win 5x in the coveted category.
Fns can vote for their favorites by visiting vote.mtv.com through Friday, August 30th, thanks to The General Insurance®; voting for “Best New Artist” will remain active into show on Tuesday, September 10th. Nominations for social categories will be announced at a later date.
Hosted by Megan Thee Stallion, the 2024 MTV VMAs will air LIVE from the UBS Arena in New York on Wednesday, September 11 @ 8PM ET/PT on MTV.
