Megan Thee Stallion is headed to the VMAs!
The chart-topping rapper is about to make “hot girl history” this year, as she’s set to host the 2024 MTV VMAs in New York this September.
No stranger to the big show, Megan is a 2x VMAs winner and is up for 5 nominations this year, including “Best Collaboration” with tour mate GloRilla and “Best Hip Hop,” the same category she last won in 2020 for her smash hit “Savage.” Her first MTV Moon Person was in 2019 for “Best Power Anthem,” scoring a win as a first-time nominee for her smash “Hot Girl Summer.”
As far as her emcee skills go, Meg is a natural in front of the camera. She’s previously hosted Saturday Night Live, served as co-host for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and made history as the first Black woman to appear on the cover of Forbes’ prestigious Under 30 issue. She was also named as TIME’s 100 Most Influential People of 2020 after publishing her monumental “Why I Speak Up For Black Women” op-ed for The New York Times.

Earlier this month, MTV revealed the star-studded lineup of performers for this year’s show, which includes Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, Rauw Alejandro, Sabrina Carpenter, and Katy Perry, who will also receive this year’s Video Vanguard Award. The network also shared the nominees across 15-gender-neutral categories, and to no surprise, Taylor Swift leads the pack with a whopping ten nominations. This September, she will be looking to continue her record-breaking streak for “Video of the Year” and shatter her own record to become the only artist to ever three-peat and win 5x in the coveted category.
Fns can vote for their favorites by visiting vote.mtv.com through Friday, August 30th, thanks to The General Insurance®; voting for “Best New Artist” will remain active into show on Tuesday, September 10th. Nominations for social categories will be announced at a later date.
The 2024 MTV VMAs air LIVE from the UBS Arena in New York on Wednesday, September 11th @ 8PM ET/PT on MTV.
